How does the Wildcat Access Program work?

The Abilene Christian University Wildcat Access Program (WAP) is an integrated program designed to deliver students' textbooks directly to their residence at the beginning of the semester.

Once students register for their courses an order will populate to send all the required materials to the student. But before that can happen, students will need to verify their physical mailing address.

Once this has been completed, all required textbooks will conveniently ship directly to the student or the campus location where the student resides prior to course start.

Students enrolled in Excluded programs or Opted-Out of the program will be responsible for obtaining their own course materials here.

What's Included (Already paid for!)

  • Digital textbooks - All the e-books your professors require
  • Physical textbooks - Hard copies when needed for class
  • Online access codes - For homework platforms like MyMathLab, Connect, etc.
  • Digital materials - PDFs, online articles, digital workbooks
  • Consumables - Lab manuals, workbooks you write in, art supplies for specific courses

Bottom line: If your professor says it's required for the course, it's covered.

What's NOT Included

  • Recommended materials - Books your prof suggests but doesn't require
  • Items covered by other fees - Materials already included in your program fees or course fees
  • Personal supplies - General notebooks, pens, calculators (unless course-specific)

How It Works

Getting Started

  • You're automatically enrolled when you register for classes (both full-time & part-time students)
  • Want out? You can opt-out later if you prefer to buy your own books

Getting Your Books

Live on campus?

  • Physical books ship directly to the ACU Gear Shop for pickup

Live off campus or commuting?

  • You'll get an email asking where you want books shipped:
    • Your home address, OR
    • The ACU Gear Shop for pickup

Timing & Access

  • All materials arrive before your first class - no scrambling on day one!
  • Check what's digital: Log into your Student Dashboard to see which books are e-books vs physical copies

End of Semester

  • Return physical books by semester end (keep the digital ones forever!)
  • Cost appears on your student account - just like tuition and other fees

Not Sure if Something's Covered?

Check your course syllabus for the "required" vs "recommended" materials list, or ask your professor during the first week of class.
